British soldiers looted thousands of artifacts known as Benin bronze from the Kingdom of Benin in present-day Nigeria in 1897.
After the auction, some bronze was finished in museums and private collections throughout Europe.
They have deep cultural significance, and there is increasing international pressure to give them back.
