Indian ornithologist and naturalist. Sálim Moizuddin Abdul Ali is referred to as the ‘Birdman of India’. His great vision and love for birds gave him the title of the ‘Birdman of India‘. Born as Salim Moizuddin Abdul Ali in Bombay on November 12, 1896, he was the youngest of nine children. He was the pre-eminent ornithologist of India, famously known as the “Birdman of India”. When Sálim was ten years old, his uncle presented him with an air-gun.
