On 21st June, 2018 Kota entered the Guinness Book of World Records, when over 1 lakh people performed Yoga at one place at the same time. International Yoga Day is celebrated on June 21 every year since its inception in 2015. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had suggested June 21 in his address to the United Nations.
Yoga guru Baba Ramdev set a new record by performing various asanas in Kota, Rajasthan on the 4th International Yoga Day.
Baba Ramdev has made a place in the Guinness Book of World Records by presiding over the largest crowd practicing yoga in Kota, Rajasthan. Two Guinness World Records observers confirmed this, however, the exact official figure is not yet available.
Significantly, on Wednesday, Ramdev had said that 2 lakh people would do yoga in Kota and set a new world record.
