Jaffer is playing his 150th Ranji game for Vidarbha versus Andhra Pradesh at the Devineni Venkata Ramana Praneetha Ground today.
Devendra Bundela and Amol Muzumdar, who have 145 and 136 appearances in the Ranji Trophy, respectively, follow Jaffer.
In his Ranji career, Jaffer has accumulated 40 tonnes and 11775 runs. The Mumbai-born batsman has played 253 first-class matches, averaging 51.19 and scoring 19,147 runs.
He has played 31 Tests and two One-Day Internationals for India.
The start of Jaffer’s 150th Ranji match was delayed on Monday morning after a snake entered the Dr. Gokaraju Liala Gangaaraju ACA Cricket Ground here.
